Animals Assisted by Rocky's Bridge

Honey, May 30, 2025

We received a call from Honey's vet asking for help for Honey and her owner.  Honey is a hemophiliac and has costly injections that must be given each month in addition to the need for testing.  Honey is obviously well loved and just needed a little help this month to cover the cost of required testing.  We were happy to help!

Mocha, March 16, 2025

We received an urgent call for a mama dog that had given birth a couple of days earlier, but was still in labor and pushing. We knew that this was a life and death situation. She was taken to Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital where an emergency C-section was performed. Sadly, the remaining puppy didn’t make it, but Mocha was saved and able to be spayed while in surgery, and given vaccines and antibiotics.

Taco, May 24, 2025

We received a call from a citizen needing help with an emergency visit for her dog, Taco.  Unfortunately, Taco's owner had to make the difficult decision to euthanize in the best interest of Taco. While this is never the outcome we hope for, Rocky's Bridge is thankful to have been able to pay for Taco to be peacefully laid to rest instead of suffering.

Segar, December 19, 2024

Seger, is a 5 month old Maine Coon that was born with a heart defect. With assistance from Rocky's, he was recently diagnosed at NC State Vet School with VSD, Ventricular Septal Defect.  This is causing his body to work extra hard, creating an enlarged heart and some congestive heart failure. He is on 3 medications to bring these things into check. In 2-3 months, he'll have another echocardiogram to see if his heart has improved enough to have pulmonary artery banding to increase right ventricular outflow, which will decrease the amount of blood going into the other ventricle.

We got a call from Chopper's owner asking for assistance with surgery.  He had had surgery for a hematoma on one ear, then the second ear ended up with the same and needed surgery for that one as well. The owner couldn't afford the second surgery and this little guy was in pain. We were happy to assist so Chopper could get back to feeling great!

Buddy Boy was surrendered to the shelter for euthanasia because he was old, possibly deaf, and blind. This little dude was super sweet and very happy and was lucky to have a wonderful rescue pull him from the shelter.  Rocky's helped pay toward his vet cost to repair a broken jaw due to progressive dental disease.  We are so happy Buddy Boy was rescued and on his way to a healthy, loved life!
